Farewell 2010...Hello 2011! As another year draws to a close I look back and remember all the great things that have happened and the wonderful people and horses that have come into our lives! 2010 was a very successful year for us. Horses bred on the farm are competing very successfully with their new owners//riders. Horses in training are reaching new levels of competency and more prepared then ever to carry their riders forward. Our riders are maturing into fabulous athletes in their own right! Some of the Caduceus Farm, LLC family have ventured out to further their educations...then came back with a renewed sense of determination and validation that they have been on the right track all along. I am so proud of all of you! I want to thank all for a fantastic year and many more to come. Keep your minds and heart clear and free of chaos. Don't let the doubt and venom of others hurt you. Trust and stay on task. We are there for you! Follow us on Facebook!

Sportshorse Breeding Program
For more than 20 years, Linford Judy DVM and Peggy Judy have strived to develop a sporthorse breeding program to provide superior horses for the American rider. Over the years, they have had the opportunity to stand some of the country's most outstanding stallions. Included among them was the wonderfully talented Rockefeller (Rubenstein/Donnerhall) owned by Bent Jensen and the famous and beloved Swedish stallion Vivaldi (Premium A). Currently standing is the brilliant FEI Swedish stallion Pehrsson owned by Lee Steur. Peggy has been very excited to accept a position on the ISR/Oldenburg NA Advisory Board! "I feel that the ISR/Old NA is very progressive, membership oriented Registry with the best intentions in mind for the horses that we breed and the owners that pour their hearts into them!"

The mares we use for breeding are of the best character and conformation, and many are performance horses themselves. Please consider offspring from our program for your next champion. Our foals are handled daily and are prepared from the first day of life to become outstanding performance horses.

Our Rider Training Program
Not only does Caduceus Farm, LLC produce excellent sporthorses, but it produces very good riders as well. When asked what Peggy's goals are, she states, "I love introducing the sport of dressage to riders of all ages. From youngsters just starting out, to adults (especially adults!) that have come back to riding after years away from horses. Often adults will have a fear of the horse they did not experience as a child... I help them work through the issues so they can enjoy the sport and look forward to their rides with enthusiasm."

Adults and children learn to work as partners, communicating with the horse and creating a positive experience that carries over into their everyday lives away from the barn. Some of our riders move on into the competitive arena as well. They find a great support system here with us! Visit our riding lessons and training program page for more information.

6th Annual Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium

(Congratulations to Amanda Manley on being chosen to attend the Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium at Hassler Dressage in Chesapeake City, Maryland, November 19-21, 2010! We are so proud of Amanda! This symposium is to help educate up and coming "young horse" trainers. Guest presenters joining Scott hassler this year will be Dr. Ulf Muller and Ingo Pape; they will focus on the training of young horses, 4 to 8 years of age and their developement toward the FEI.)

Report By Amanda Manley: "Earlier this month I was fortunate enough to be invited to the 2010 Young Dressage Horse Trainer’s Symposium put on by Hassler Dressage and Harmony Sporthorses at the new facility Riveredge in Maryland. This was my first year in the program and I had only a rough daily schedule and some words of encouragement when I boarded the plane, I had no idea what an inspiring and amazing weekend it would be. The first night I was met by the smiling faces of sixty new friends. Scott and Susanne Hassler do an absolutely amazing job creating a warm, welcoming environment where riders join from around the country to share their passion for training young horses. Throughout the weekend the talented demonstration riders and their horses, ages 3-7, worked with Dr. Ulf Muller, Ingo Pape and Scott Hassler in an environment where we all learned and benefited. Each evening was filled with enthusiastic conversation, good food, and great company. For me, the weekend was an incredible inspiration, and I feel a bit of a fire has been lit beneath me to continue working with as many young horses as I can to further my knowledge and experiences so that I will be full of new questions and ready for new insights should I be able to return to the symposium next year. I would like to share a few general ideas which struck me as important and that I think every rider can benefit from. These are certainly not “new” ideas, but often when we hear something said a little differently, the ideas can come through with renewed impact: • You have to ask for things from your horse, even if the horse finds it difficult at first, as long as you just keep a positive, supportive, “you can do this” attitude and clear aids, the horse will develop and appreciate the work. • Training horses requires a certain amount of “believing in them” but we must be careful to not be blinded by “the love factor”. • There should never be any backwards tendencies of your aids. • Warm up should be productive, not a waste of power, and you should not just take what your horse offers you during this time. • Every move the rider makes arrives somewhere in the horse’s body. • Remember to always provide a forward outlet and reward positive responses. • We do need to ride our horses “back to front”, but we also need to have suppleness and access to the front end to be able to ride the hind end up. • The “show position” or “show frame” should be a result of good throughness and fitness, it is not a separately “produced” entity."

Congratulations to the new owner of Fabiana W!!!!!

The outstanding jumper mare, Fabiana W left Caduceus Farm, LLC yesterday heading for Minnesota to her new owner, Dana J. We wish Dana the best of success in the jumper ring. She and Fabiana will make an beautiful team! Both are special, graceful and talented ladies. There was someone looking out for both of them, I have no doubt.
